About Asphyxia

Food and Nutrition

  • Traditional Foods
My health has dramatically improved after changing my diet for a more traditional way of eating, as advised by Sally Fallon.
  • Food Flower Poster
Forget the food pyramid! It was developed by the agricultural industry, not by nutritionists. Instead, print this Food Flower poster, which shows a visual guide to choosing nutritious and satisfying traditional foods.
  • Sourdough bread Recipes
I make delicious sourdough bread in my bread machine - recipes and tips here.
  • Raw Food
Should we be eating a diet of 100% raw food? Here's what I found by way of "scientific proof".
  • Raw garlic to cure colds & flu
If you feel a cold or flu coming on, eat a whole clove of raw garlic, three times a day - it works miracles.

This would be one the most amazing homes I have ever seen! You and your family should be so proud of yourselves. Well done an inspiration to all the people that strive to live as sustainable as yourselves.

You really have it going. It's great to be self sufficient and you have more pride with it when you do it yourself.

this is fabulous, I have thoroughly enjoyed looking around your house and garden, your garden is amazing and I am in awe of what you have achieved. For me personally the only thing missing is you don't live a vegan lifestyle, that would make it perfect, a cruelty free life and living on plant power, but I still love your house and your work and thank you so much for sharing it with us xx

Thank you for sharing your home with us. One day I will come down and visit.................... Lynda

It looks so wonderful and you & Paula have made some delightful changes since I was last here for such a wonderful, joyful and auspicious occasion. Inspiring work from you both. Love to you 3 from Ubud <3

This is like a cottage from a story book. Where to start? A visual feast: a living lesson in creativity, gardening, animal care, house building, on and on. I really can see the French Villa inspiration for the addition. Me favorites ( well, all were favorites, but what is sticking in my mind at the moment ) were the Arched windows, painted red on the outside, like flowers dancing in a field. The gorgeous chandelier hanging over your bed. The seperate work spaces in the kitchen, a fabulous innovation.

At first I was all excited to go buy a chandelier just like the one you had, until I read you made it. Wow. It seems like the light can make the room beautiful at all times of the day and night, with bits of light reflected from the sun, from the electric. I love how you and Paula and Jesse work as a team. and made the cottage almost a living piece of art.

On a side note, I love your pink bathroom sink and Jesse's pink tub in his room. I grew up in a house with all pink bath fixtures, and the color brings back warm memories.

I think December 7th could not come soon enough for all the folks that are lucky enough to play and wonder through your gate. You are so generous with all you have created, thank you.

Hi Asphyxia,

Thanks for sharing your inspiring and wonderful home, from the actual house that you have built, to the furniture and mosaic pathway that Paula has made. Together with the 'Food Forest' and your artwork, you have both created the perfect lifestyle for yourselves and Jesse, what a lucky young boy he is to live with such creative and self sufficient parents, I'm sure one day we will be seeing a wonderful abode that Jesse has built for himself, how could he not with such wonderful examples to follow.

Hi Asphyxia! It's been a few years since the Suzi Blu days that I saw your little house. AMAZING is all I had to say about your whole process back then, but now looks like you did a great job expanding. Congrats on all your creative endeavors. So happy for you!

Aww thanks for your lovely comments, Julia - and yes I've come a long way since my Suzi Blu days!! How are you? xoxo
