I painted this large canvas with my very favourite of my new colour combinations. I think they just pop - so bright and delicious and happy.
I've hung it over the couch bed in my studio, and I think it makes it look very inviting.
The canvas is upcycled, and covered with plaster, which I've cracked and gouged into. I really love the textured effect.
We are the same but different, and yet there's still a place for us to meet and know each other. This painting is about making the connection, coming together and understanding each other, despite dark and light, tall and small, and all the other inherent differences we embody.
If you'd like this painting, it's in here my shop. It'll add vibrance and warmth and colour to your lounge room or bedroom, I promise!
When I painted this, I had so much leftover paint on my palette that I couldn't bear to waste, so I spread it over a smaller piece of plastered fabric, and next thing I knew, I had a smaller version of the same painting. If you can't afford the big one, you might like this littler one.
